Gerald is founder and managing director of BC Consulting GmbH and has been dealing with disasters and crises for more than 25 years. For many years he has been advising and supporting national and international companies, organizations in the development, set-up and implementation of business continuity management projects and in ongoing crisis management.
As a NBC defense officer of the Austrian Armed Forces, he has a profound national and international academic education. In addition, he holds a Master’s degree in Security Economics from Corvinus University in Budapest and a Master’s degree in Natural Hazards and Disaster Management from the University of Vienna. As a co-developer of the national “Guideline for Leadership in Disaster Management”, he serves on numerous boards and is active as a lecturer at universities and in governmental crisis and disaster management.
He has been the responsible mission leader in numerous crisis and disaster operations, including mission leader after the Lassing mine disaster, advisor to the Austrian Embassy after the tsunami in Thailand, and mission leader and liaison officer in numerous flood operations in Austria and in the ongoing COVID-19 operation.
Gerhard is the founder and managing director of BC Consulting GmbH and has been involved in business continuity management for more than 25 years. After studying Computer Engineering at the Vienna University of Technology, Gerhard was the founder of PANROK & PARTNER GmbH in 1995. This was acquired by BC Consulting GmbH in 2017.
As a consultant for business continuity management and consulting for emergency and crisis management, he has led a large number of BCM projects at financial service providers, utilities and infrastructure companies, both in the national and international environment (Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Russia, CEE).
He is a lecturer on Business Continuity Management at the Danube University Krems and in the OE-RISK course at the University of Vienna, as well as at several events on BCM.
Gerhard ist Gründer und Geschäftsführer der BC Consulting GmbH und beschäftigt sich seit mehr als 25 Jahren mit Business Continuity Management. Nach dem Studium der Technischen Informatik an der TU Wien war Gerhard 1995 Gründer der PANROK & PARTNER GmbH. Diese wurde im Jahr 2017 von der BC Consulting GmbH übernommen.
Als Consultant für Business Continuity Management und Beratung für Notfall- und Krisenmanagement hat er eine Vielzahl von BCM Projekten bei Finanzdienstleistern, Energieversorgern und Infrastrukturunternehmen, sowohl im nationalen wie auch im internationalen Umfeld (Deutschland, Luxemburg, Schweiz, Russland, CEE) geleitet.
Er ist Vortragender zum Thema Business Continuity Management an der Donau Universität Krems und im OE-RISK Lehrgang an der Universität Wien, sowie bei mehreren Veranstaltungen zum Thema BCM.
Gerald ist Gründer und Geschäftsführer der BC Consulting GmbH und beschäftigt sich seit mehr als 25 Jahren mit Katastrophen und Krisen. Er berät und unterstützt seit vielen Jahren, nationale und internationale Unternehmen, Organisationen bei der Entwicklung, dem Aufbau und Implementierung von Business Continuity Management Projekten und im laufenden Krisenmanagement.
Als ABC-Abwehroffizier des österreichischen Bundesheeres verfügt er über eine fundierte nationale und internationale akademische Ausbildung. Zusätzlich hat er ein Masterstudium an der Corvinus Universität in Budapest in Sicherheitsökonomie und ein Masterstudium an der Uni Wien in Naturgefahren und Katastrophenmanagement absolviert. Als Mitentwickler der nationalen „Richtlinie für das Führen im Katastrophenmanagement“ ist er in zahlreichen Gremien vertreten und ist als Vortragender an Universitäten und im staatlichen Krisen- und Katastrophenmanagement tätig.
Er war verantwortlicher Einsatzleiter in zahlreichen Krisen- und Katastropheneinsätzen, u.a. Einsatzleiter nach dem Gruben Unglück in Lassing, Berater der österreichischen Botschaft nach dem Tsunami in Thailand sowie Einsatzleiter und Verbindungsoffizier bei zahlreichen Hochwassereinsätzen in Österreich und beim laufenden COVID-19 Einsatz.
